The Gatekeeper Secret Gatekeeper Saga Book Five The Gatekeeper Saga 5 eBook Eva Pohler

Yikes! I totally thought this was the end of the series, but then got a nifty little surprise that there is another book. I'm really curious to see where it's headed next.

This was a good book, but the big reveal at the end sunk it to 3 stars for me. Thoroughly entertaining, but there are some issues I have with the plot that keep it from hitting 4 for me. The main thing (SPOILER) is that a lot of the conflict seems unnecessary when it is revealed that Than and Therese's children will be this great thing for the gods that will bring some great change for the gods, restoring the faith of the people. What seems strange to me is why Hades decided to keep that little tidbit secret until the last page of the book. If that was the case, it seems like he'd want to tell Zeus and the others, because it seems in their best interest to protect Therese and Than rather than kill them. It would be one thing if that knowledge didn't change their course, but it seems like that would be something Hades would have wanted to mention much, much, much earlier than this. If he had said something, it seems like most of the conflict in the last few books could have been avoided. In fact, it seems like they would have encouraged Than rather than try and stop him having a relationship with Therese.

Besides that, there are a few spots here and there that seemed a bit confusing and I had to read them a few times before I really understood what was going on. I have to mention that the author used the phrase "making love to her face" to describe making out a few times in this book and it gave me the heebie-geebies every time! Of all the ways to describe making out, that has to be the ickiest visual image.

BUT mostly I really enjoyed this book and I'm dying to read the next one. I hope it comes out soon!

The Gatekeeper Secret Gatekeeper Saga Book Five The Gatekeeper Saga 5 eBook Eva Pohler Reviews

So many series tend to start falling apart by this point, but not this one,,,, the author is good at keeping all the characters fresh and developing!!! Loved it!!
I couldn't put the book down!
The Gatekeeper's Secret is the 5th book in this phenomenal series! Eva Pohler is a fantastic author with the ability to create characters that are so real and lifelike. In this book Pete tries desperately to reach Therese through prayer to warn her about what he saw in a vision. When she doesn't answer him he prays to Zeus telling him what he saw and that starts a plan that will leave one person dead and Therese in Zeus's belly. Zeus invites the couple to a party on Mount Olympus and the Underworld Gods scramble to bring together an Alliance to bring down Zeus and free Métis and Cybele. Also Hip realizes that he's in love with Jen and he doesn't know how they can ever be together as God and Human. There are twists and turns and many surprises in this book that will not only surprise you but also make you a believer in the Gods. I absolutely loved this book, this series and will forever be a fan of Eva Pohler! Amazing!!!
Again in am blown away by the story line that never seems to dull for one moment. Characters and world building are beyond amazing. There is little to no redundancy in these books. Which I am a stickler on. Great work
Each book gets better snd better. Eva pohler is such an amazing author. She has such a great imagination. Greek mythology at its best. Zeus is such an immature spoiled brat. But I love how all the gods come together.
Really liked the continuation from the first book of the second part. There was no lag or down time. Author really showed more of the surrounding characters in this book and I really like that. Our new goddess is really holding her own against those that have been around a lot longer.
This is the book when Therese and Thantos get married. Therese is young but decides that she wants to get married, which I guess is understandable because she became immortal just for Thantos. Her aunts reaction to her announcing that she is getting married is pretty reasonable, I mean I would be concerned if my underage niece wanted to get married to some guy she just started dating. But I guess this is why this is geared toward teens because maybe that is a romantic idea, to get married to your high school boyfriend. Maybe it is because I am divorced from my high school sweetheart I have a hard time not rolling my eyes
